I don't need any stupid toiletries telling what to wash or when to relax. Jeez...
(Have I mentioned I have a problem with people/things telling me what to do?)

The last night I was left to my own devices (and my own company, reesie :)), and as much as I knew better, I went for sushi. Living in San Francisco makes it a bad idea to go for sushi anywhere other than Tokyo, and maybe Manhattan. Sorry, I'm a snot. Or maybe it's just that you have to be in the know anywhere else. I was thinking that since the name was Sushi 101, and the song playing as I walked up was Do You Know the Way to San Jose, it might be a good sign. Eh, not so much. Not bad sushi, as in physically sick, just mediocre. Which is still better than my other easy choices at that point. Lots of fake crab, and really pale maguro.
And a picture of a Flying Dog truck, parked next to R2D2. Sure they're from CO, not NC, I just liked their logo.
Hotel views from my room, day and evening. I don't think this LavAzza is going to be as good as the stuff in Europe, but it's fun to play with at least. And the beds are decent too.
Right below the hotel there's a little man-made lake with a boulevard and shops. And birds. You can rent paddleboats to tool around in, but I think I'll be skipping that. I have enough trouble stopping myself from chasing the animals around without being in some kind of self-propelled water contraption. And let me tell you, that water is nasty. I don't want to fall in there...
But I can still get pretty close, I even saw this headless variety of bird:

And oh holy hell it's hot here! 85-90? Good thing I brought a Vox t-shirt to change into when I'm not in conference clothes.
I've been exploring the (mostly chain) restaurants of Southpoint. Started the week with the green beans (and a decent salad) at Firebirds Grill, then last night ordered way too much food at a P.F. Chang's (first time in that chain).
Tonight more ahi at Rockfish, along with a red pepper crab bisque. Mellow and not bad. The bartender was very patient with my pain-in-the-ass request for juices mixed with soda water. And look Graham ~ the occasional white!
And some of the outdoor mall stuff.
This could also be one of the reasons I'm liking the Four Points better this visit. They never used to have dogs on their stationery.
