After talking about it Saturday morning, I had to make a roast chicken this weekend. I did a lemon zest/thyme/garlic/olive oil/salt/pepper rub on the outside, and stuffed it with lemons, onions, garlic and more thyme. Simple comfort food, but it made the house smell great, and tasted good too.

Because of Crystal's pictures yesterday, I had to get some lamb. I marinated it overnight in a mess of onions, garlic, olive oil, meyer lemon juice, oregano, and rosemary. Tonight I grilled it. If I could post the way it smelled cooking I would.
I've never really made fava beans myself, and yesterday at the market I bought some just to give it a shot. I know they take a lot of work. Sunday afternoon/evening seemed like a good time to try to deal with them.

It took an hour to clean them (I know because I was catching up on TiVo from the week while I did it).
But, now what? I kind of want to just have them with butter, salt, and pepper, but it seems a waste to eat something in 2 minutes that took an hour to get ready. I don't know if I really feel like tossing them with pasta or doing much more preparation though...
Now that I've had the experience, next time I might just go with karen's method (frozen).
